Little Canada wants to welcome you and your family to this beautiful city, named after its neighbor to the north - Canada. The city is rich with Canadian history located right off Interstate 35 surrounded by several beautiful lakes including Gervais Lake. Little Canada is just minutes north east of the Twin Cities so you can enjoy the big city any time you like.
Little Canada is served by the Roseville Area Schools #623 with about 6,400 students in surrounding cities for grades K-12th. There are seven elementary schools in the district including Little Canada Elementary for grades K through 6th at (651) 490-1353. There is one middle school - Roseville Area Middle School for grades 7th and 8th - at (651) 482-5280, and one high school - Roseville Area High School - for grades 9 through 12 at (651) 635-1660. Little Canada has one Early Childhood Special Education Center for ages birth to five years old as well as the Fairview Alternative High School for grades 9th through 12th. Little Canada wants to make sure you and your family is safe and secure by implementing a public emergency service program. Programs in place include preparedness, response and recovery for all major emergency and disasters affecting Little Canada. Other public safety services include the Fire and Rescue Services, and the Little Canada Police Department. Some other basic safety tips include purchasing a carbon monoxide detector, testing your family on fire survival skills, checking your smoke alarm and cigarette safety. Knowing the history of your city is important and the Little Canada Historical Society knows this. The Historical Society is highly involved in public awareness by presenting exhibits, educational programs and doing research projects promoting Little Canada history. To help keep the Little Canada Historical Society alive and well, donations are made by purchasing name blocks or donating money. You can volunteer your time by working at the History Center and become a member. Moving can be a stressful event in your life, but moving with a pet can be even worse. Let the City of Little Canada make things simple for you by providing all pet license needs in one location. Licenses can be purchased at City Hall. No licenses are required for cats. For dogs, however, a certificate of rabies vaccination is needed, a proof of spayed or neutered is needed (if applicable) and $20 for a two year license.
